The hosts of the 68th Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in the Swedish city of Malmo will be Hollywood actress Malin Akkerman and TV presenter Petra Mede, the organizers of the competition said. In total, Malin Akkerman and Petra Mede will broadcast three live broadcasts in Malmö: two semi-finals on May 7 and 9, as well as the grand final on May 11.
Malin Akkerman, of course, knows how to amaze audiences both on stage and on screen, but performing at Eurovision at this level is a new challenge for her. She was born in the Swedish capital, Stockholm, but grew up in Canada. Despite the fact that the actress now lives in Los Angeles with her family, her roots are connected with Sweden. This is especially important for Malin as her father remains in Sweden and therefore she feels at home in Malmö.
Malin Akkerman amazes not only with his acting skills, but also with the variety of his roles. She is well recognized for her roles in the sitcom The Comeback and the HBO television series Entourage, as well as in the films The Girl of My Nightmares and Watchmen, where her talent shines alongside Tom Cruise, Jennifer Aniston, Sandra Bullock and Dwayne Johnson.
Petra Mede, having already hosted Eurovision in 2013 and 2016, has amazing experience. She also worked as a creative personality in Sweden, presenting Melodifestivalen, QX-gala and Guldbaggegalan, as well as starting her own “Petri Mede Show” on TV3. Once again taking on the role of host at Eurovision, she will confidently continue to bring her unrivaled talent and fun to the audience.
