Life’s A Gamble is Rich The Kid’s fourth solo full-length effort following March 2020’s BOSS MAN and January 2021’s Lucky 7. It is executive produced by Ty Dolla $ign and Kanye West of the the superduo, ¥$.
He announced the album’s title and release window through an Instagram post on January 29, 2024, not long after he was revealed to be apart of ¥$’s Vultures series.
After the viral success of “CARNIVAL” with ¥$ and Playboi Carti, to which it would end up being the closure track to Life’s A Gamble, Rich announced that the album would be executive produced by ¥$ and would be on its way for release soon.
Rich would then tease a June release date on May 15, 2024. Both “Band Man” and “Gimmie A Second” with Peso Pluma would be released as the album’s lead singles on May 24, 2024.
On June 8, 2024, Rich would then take to social media to reveal the album’s official artwork and the original release date for June 28.
On June 21, 2024, a week before the album’s intended release, “Gimmie A Second 2” with Peso Pluma, Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign would then be released as the album’s third single.
A day before the album’s initial release date, it would then be announced that the album would be pushed back to July 12 for unknown reasons. What fans did recieve was features that were expected to be on the album, such as Chief Keef, the late Takeoff, Rob49, Quavo, Offset, and many more.
On July 9, 2024, Rich took to his Instagram stories revealing that Ye would retire from music, however it would turn out to be a publicity stunt, as Rich would then soon announce on social media the new official tracklist and release date, with “Plane Jane” consisting a new Ye feature.
